While doing "research" for an article I'm writing, I visited The Kansas Department of Health and Environment, which is pushing oral hygene for kids this month. Apparently oral and dental disease is the most common chronic disease among American children.
The kicker--it can impair their ability to learn. If we have learned anything it is this: if you want me to take action on an issue, demonstrate how it may affect my son's interest in the complete set of Harvard Classics that I'm saving up to buy for his twelfth birthday.
